          Actually, it's a female brown button spider (Latrodectus geometricus), native to South Africa. Her prey is a non-venomous juvenile house snake (Lamprophis aurorae). +6 reply

              Brown button spiders from South Africa have them, as do red back spiders in Australia. Black widows are native only to North America. They are, however, all in the same genus. reply
