Same here in the UK. I choose to cook fresh food for my family, fresh vegetable and fruit snacks instead of sweets (candy to the yanks). However, I could feed them for half the money if I turned to ready meals and frozen pizza! one damn reason the U.S. is so over weight is due to the socialization to "finish everything on your plate, there is a starving kid in _______ that would be happy to have that. " The markets know this and increase the portion sizes way beyond what they should be. PLUS, they jack trhe prices so we feel obligated to eat the food so we dont waste the money.
