american football is a derivation of rugby football, (rules have changed so much that feet are hardly used). Also, rugby football has also been called rugger and assoc (for associated football). Hence the easier name, soccer. Go cry about it. reply

I love when people call American Football "weak" or "pussy"...When Rugby players get into the physical shape that a lot of NFL players are in, and can run a 40yd in under 4.5 seconds they'll need fucking pads and a helmet too. Sure they hit hard in Rugby, but rarely are there opportunities to absolutely destroy someone, there are violent hits in the NFL week in and week out. Fucking dudes being carted off the field hoping they can walk again. Rubgy players have a "silent agreement" wherein each player agrees to hit each other with only the amount of force needed to bring him down, whereas in the NFL the agreement is:"I want to take you out of this game just as bad as you want to take me out of this game." Put any of these three guys in an American Football game and they'd get paralyzed. reply
