    It's called a shuffle play. The QB shuffles off towards the sideline holding up the ball and then runs for the TD. First used by Notre Dame against USC in the Orange Bowl in 1855BC. reply

      No. Not common at all. Although, it does happen from time to time, part of the reason why it works is because it's pretty rare. In the NFL, the Colts and Patriots have both been known to use similar tricks at times. reply

    Actually it don't work. Peyton Manning tried it once and the ref's blew the play dead. He was walking around with his hands out saying "why did you blow the whistle?" He had a shit eating grin on his face the whole time. He knew it wasn't going to fly! reply
