Old combat medic/EMT here. I've seen too many traumatic amputations. Within the first 20 minutes or so of a traumatic amputation, the major vessels and arteries actually retract back into the surrounding tissue actually providing a tourniquet effect. If home-slice doesn't get help soon, the tissue will begin to relax and the blood will flow. Arterial bleeds, especially femoral artery bleeds are notoriously copious and blood is expelled under great pressure (think garden hose at half pressure). If a proper tourniquet is not applied, homie can bleed out in about a minute. That's your lesson for tha' day. =) Respects 'n take care out there.
=) Squirts is actually tha' name of my cat. I'm a biker in a club and one of tha' things that goes along with that is tha' adoption of a road name. Tha' road name has to be given by your brothers. In my case, I told a story about 18 years ago about my wife and me adoptin' a cat from tha' animal shelter. I told how he had tha' runny shits when we got him, so I name him "Squirts". One of my mates suggested my road name be Squirts because I always ride shitty motorcycles... Can't really argue with that as it's true. =)
