Blood soup (ti%u1EBFt canh) is made with raw blood of ducks or geese (sometimes pigs), with peanuts and herbs on top. +4 reply

We have a Thai restaurant where I live and they serve the 'normal' stuff, like Pad Thai, Khao Soi, etc. The waiter we had one night asked me if I knew how to make sushi, - this was after he asked why I was a vegetarian - and I said yes. I make it every new year's eve. My friends eat the fish, I have the veg stuff. Anyhow, I invited him over to my place to teach him how to make the rice and such. He bitched about it not being done, it was too salty, etc. And I was following the recipe verbatim! Now that I find out that the Thai people are like THIS, eating blood soup, bandicoot rats, and friggin INSECTS, I'd like to mention this to him and ask him WHY he ever decided to leave Bangkok. ...and he had the nerve to ask why I didn't eat fish. Damn. reply
