RIGHT AND EXACT | 10 months ago | +5Regarding picture number 1, a few years back I went to an exhibit at a museum in NYC. The exhibit was entitled 'WITHOUT SANCTUARY' and it had on display postcards that had been found in attics and old family scrapbooks and passed down through generations. These postcards were sent back and forth like Christmas cards amongst white southerners and they depicted whatever that latest lynchings were. These lynchings were attended by school children and womenfolk, The attendance reached rock concert levels. I remember being STUNNED when I saw in certain post cards that they lynched white people too. I was genuinely shocked...and just as saddened.- TheJoekenorer | 10 months ago | +1Yeah R&E, people were real racist back then, but segregation was so deep most white people didn't even see black people, so life went on normal. Lynchings were liable to happen to anyone. But if a black person was involved, it was much easier to convict them because of the racism.
