The clothing the guy is wearing isn't hunter garb and that .45 auto isn't the typical weapon used for boar hunting. It looks more like the guy was out for a walk and was lucky enough to have a sidearm with him. Boar and feral hogs can be extremely aggressive and will tear you to shreds, especially if they have their young close by. Just sayin'..this isn't a hunting video.

I know when we go deer hunting, we carry two handguns, a revolver filled with snake shot, and a large caliber auto loader for feral pigs. You would be a massive idiot to not realize these fucking things will seriously hurt or kill you, if they think your going to hurt their young. If you don't feel something when you kill any animal your dead inside, even if your going to eat it. I hate to see any animal suffer, which is why if you fuck up a deer shot, you follow the blood trail till you can put the animal down so it doesn't suffer. But make no mistakes, if I come across a feral pig im going to shoot it with any and everything I have, as quickly as I can so it dies. 1. A .45 (the standard 1911 round) is ruled out since it is the only subsonic round and you can hear the sound-break of the muzzle.
2. Instead of listening to when the gun fires, listen to the sound after the gun is fired. The ring/echo gives it away.
3. The handle on .22 models of 1911's is smaller than that of .45 or 9mm, like the one in the video.
4. The hand holding the gun looked like a kid's, (not to mention the breathing around the 1:00 mark sounds like a young adult) and even if they were trained properly, there would have been more kick with a larger caliber.- deleted | 12 months ago | +2A .22 would've just pissed off a wild boar. Its hind leg is just about blown off and that's pig bone we're talking about. Audio is deceptive on a hand held camcorder. The recoil from the pistol when he shoots it in the head is clearly from a large bore round. I carry a Kimber .45 and my hand completely covers the handle and the web of my hand would get bitten by the hammer of it wasn't for the hammer guard. If you're holding the grip tighly, as you should, you won't get any more recoil than what you see in the video. Limp wristing a semi-auto will cause it to recoil upwards and often causes jams. The person firing that weapon knew what they were doing by allowing the oinker to come closer and smoothly fired off each round. He didn't rapid fire in a panic and didn't even sound like he lost his cool at all. The pig was intent on getting some blood.

For the leg part, even though they are small, .22 bullets will do some wicked shit, even FMJs. I don't doubt you can break a leg with a .22. Anyways, you can still make out the "scream" of the .22, not to mention that the pitch shouldn't change, even on the crappiest camera. And, I have strong wrists and a pretty firm grip (giggity) but a .45 would still kick more. Like I said earlier, I'd bet my life, my wife, and my genitalia on it.
