Francesca Woodman (USA, April 3, 1958 – January 19, 1981) was a photographer best known for her black and white pictures featuring herself and female models. Many of her photographs show young women who are nude, who are blurred (due to movement and long exposure times), who are merging with their surroundings, or whose faces are obscured. Her work continues to be the subject of much attention, years after she committed suicide at the age of 22.

Art can literally be fucking anything. ANYTHING. there is no boundaries on art. It's one of the few things in life there are none on yet. Beauty is in the eye of he beholder, art is the same. If someone looks at a pile of trash, and it effects the, in a way that they are moved to make it art, or just capture the feeling they god from that pile of trash in a photograph...it's art. Art is an emotional medium. I look at these photos and see the emotion she was portraying. That proves its art. If youre not moved by it, then fine. It doesn't make you closed minded, but it also doesn't mean it's not art.

The beauty of life, is seeing the art in it, everywhere. Especially when others say its not there, or it's hard to see.

  Having spent years learning to draw and paint I find that many people jump to photography as a medium as they don't have to bother with learning a skill and can be artists over night. People misconstrue a message for art, This may have a message but it lacks talent or skill. Art is the application of a studied and earned skill. These are just pictures. That being said, nice tits.

    I'm not saying that there aren't people that do it for the sake of it..but photography takes skill, and to say it doesn't is totally ignorant. Yes, technology has made it easy for hacks to pose as educated artists, but for the most part you can tell the hack from the true artists. Photography , like i said in my comment , is about capturing the emotion of a moment..weather its an emotion you yourself feels , or an emotion shared by all. Art isn't always obvious. sometimes you have to look at it in the point of view of the artist. Also, photography isn't the only art form being infiltrated and downgraded by hacks..look at what Mr.brainwash did to street art..
    
    you don't need skill to be an artist..or talent.just emotion. the Studies and education is used to better understand the history, and to refine.But like all things, the best way to learn is to do.

I feel so sad that she destroyed herself at the baby-age of just 22! I wish someone had told her depression could be attributed to an observable chemical imbalance within her brain; that the gift of depression is the eventual emergence from it; that there is nothing to indicate that it is better to be dead, as opposed to suffering under the sentiment that life is not worth living.
