I've pulled it four times and the people who had it pointed at them never knew how close they came to dying, (it looks like a well worn wallet). Many of my contemporaries carry SW .40's and 9mm and one notable carries a .44 snub, (how he can even use that thing is beyond me). But having it sure can make an otherwise ugly situation better.
What I'm pointing out is that knowing I can use it and enact a final solution has allowed me the ability to calm myself and disengage from what can escalate into someone being killed.- ImmenseSatisfaction | 10 months ago | +2 -2I have only had to draw twice. Once when some punk kid drew down on me first. He was mad because I looked at him. I didn't even notice him till he made a move for the gun. Then second time was when someone came at me with a knife, and we all know how bringing a knife to a gunfight works for most. Never fired at a human target, and in both situations I never ever had my finger enter the trigger guard. I don't draw just because I'm scared or mad. I draw when there is an immediate threat to my existence. Twice I have not used my firearm when a pistol was pulled on my. Both of those times I left mine in the holster and chased them down and beat them with my fists. One last time I was running my mouth and got jumped and beat badly. I did not use my pistol in this situation either. I took my beating an moved on. Shit, maybe I should stay home and never leave the house. I just made my life sound like that of a gangster

Not too long ago a kid at the school I graduated from got into it with a group of kids at the school. The fight at the school was broken up, but when his dad picked him up from school they were followed by the other kids. The group of 3 beat the kid into a coma and beat the father to death.
The only witness said he saw the father pulling over. I bet he wouldn't have done that if he didn't think it was just going to be some kids having a fight. I bet he would have kept going. Or, you know, used the gun the cops found in his car.

Because sadly a lot (not judging your wife and daughter here) of women hesitate too long. They are afraid to shoot, hesitant to kill someone, even when they are in danger. With a gun the attacker has to have already done something to them usually before they use it. Then, sometimes, it is too late. Though with mace they can use it before the attacker crosses the line. Also, its hard to miss with mace.
Not trying to give unwanted advice. I just know that many of the women I know would be better protected with mace because of their low skill with firearms, and their hesitance to harm someone.
