I miss Bush. At least his bullshit was punctuated by moments of hilarity.

Discussing politics online with someone with an opposing viewpoint is like arguing with a three year old: Others watch you, they can rarely determine who is winning the argument, & in the end, YOU BOTH LOSE.

I think it's more like competing in the special olympics, even if you win you're still a retard

I like the analogy of playing chess with a pigeon is like arguing on the internet.
No matter how good you are at chess, at some point the pigeon is going to knock the pieces over, shit on the board, and strut around like it's victorious.

I can't decide if you are really rich or really stupid.
          • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +3 -1
Yep, just about sums up how he felt about Americans at that point in his career.
      • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +11 -9
        Ask yourself this:

How much better off would the USA be right now if the Republicans would not have made it their mission to deliberately sabotage EVERYTHING Obama tried to do, regardless of how it would have benefited the people? You can't drive a bike when every other asshole around you is jamming a stick in your spokes.
        • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +7 -3
I'm not saying Obama is perfect, he is a politician after all, and by definition, a liar and a thief, but let's not kid ourselves, he had an uphill battle from the get-go.
        • kingnoob | 10 months ago | +4 -2
You are talking about the same republicans that obama told to go sit at the back of the bus and keep quiet? He has never tried to be bipartisan in his actions.
        • psychmike | 10 months ago | +6 -7
Every president faces opposition from the opposing party. The reason being that they are ideologically at odds with teach other. Republicans in office were elected to represent the people who voted them into office. If those people had agreed with what Obama wanted to do, they would have voted for a Democrat.

That being said, Obama had NO opposition for his first 2 years. Dems held the majority in the house and senate. He could have passed anything he wanted during that time.

The mid-term elections showed that a lot of previously Democrat voters decided they didn't like what he was doing, so they voted in a bunch of republicans specifically to STOP Obama from being able to pass his policies.

The Republicans who are jamming spokes into his wheels are doing so at the behest of the people who voted them into office.
          • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +5 -1
That's all well and good, but for anyone looking in from the outside, here's what we saw: Obama was being cock-blocked from all angles just because of #1: he's black, and #2: He was touted as the messiah.

The mid-term elections just showed that the sabotage was successful and that the average american is truly racist and gullible. There seems to be a need by the american people to be lorded over by rich assholes that constantly fuck them over... it's like they're suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

I also doubt that he could have passed everything he wanted to pass even with the senate majority... things aren't that simple or easy in a corrupt system.

And if you actually believe the Repubs are acting on the behalf of the people who voted them in and not on behalf their own agenda, you are delusional.
            • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +1
And btw psychmike, I didn't neg your comment.
            • psychmike | 10 months ago | +2 -1
The argument that people oppose him because he is black is weak. A majority of Americans voted for him. Now many of those people who voted for him in '08 feel he is doing a bad job. Were they racist when they voted for him, or only once they criticize him? It's no matter. Any further discussion with you on this subject is pointless. No matter what evidence or logic I present to you, you will preface it with the premise that I am a racist, and it will lose all validity in your opinion. Your mind is closed to my criticism of Obama.
              • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +3
Not at all Mike, I see that you present your arguments logically and evenly and from what I've seen of you so far, you're not a racist. I just think that most of the facts presented may have been skewed by the powers that be to benefit the right, that's all.
                • psychmike | 10 months ago | +1
If you think that most of the news on American TV is skewed to the right, you are very wrong. To Fox, Obama can do no right. to every other news organization, he can do no wrong. I try very hard to weed through the spin and get to the facts, as facts are correct regardless of the skew put on them.
No, I don't believe that the Republicans are concerned with me personally. What I do believe is that they believe in reaping rewards from hard work. Lower taxes may benefit them and their buddies, but it also benefits people who work hard. They realize that we are competing in a global economy now, and burdening businesses with unrealistic environmental regulations, raising the minimum wage, forcing businesses to provide health care, and everything else Dems want makes it impossible for us to compete with China, Brazil, et al. Personally I wish they were MORE aggressive with entitlement cuts.
Dems love higher taxes on the "rich", because it gives the illusion that they care about poorer people.
                  • psychmike | 10 months ago | +4
Cont.. They know and exploit the fact that most people don't realize that EVERY DIME any company pays in taxes originates from its customers (aka the poor and middle class). A tax increase on businesses is an indirect tax on the poor and middle class families. Increasing entitlements = increased dependency on them. Increasing minimum wage? Hurts the least educated among us (aka poor); If their job skills are not worth the minimum wage, they will not be hired. Stimulus does not work bc business owners know taxes must go up to pay for it, so prices go up, so sales go down, and they don't hire.
Instead of assuming everyone is racist, try assuming they are not, and believe that maybe they disagree with what he is doing to this country.
                    • camp89 | 10 months ago | +1
                      Well said.
                      • CrawdaddySupreme | 10 months ago | +1
I agree, well said. I guess not being immersed in the political landscape gives me a somewhat limited view of everything involved. I'm going to go to bed a bit smarter tonight thanks to psychmike.
            • kingnoob | 10 months ago | +1
I am not a racist, I only hate his white whiny liberal half. Read your history, it's the democrats that have the history of oppressing minorities, especially those of African heritage.

I loved Obama i belived his slogans and i thought he was unbeholden to the PACs since most of his cash from the ppl.

            BUT

he ahs not kept any of his promises
He promised to ban the PACs and lobiests. FAIL
He promised to give you silly Americans healthcare like the rest of the western world. FAIL
He promised to end the wars. FAIL
he ahs plunged the wntire mid east into a war zone and is supporting the muslim brotherhood who is still a known terrorist group. he has only moved your waring ways to a much more dangerous theatre and the way the Americans are provoking China could lead to WW3.

Crisis and Opportunity go hand in hand the fucked up corrupt corporations that have been fucking over the whole world since the 60s could have been destroyed with one strok of his pen.

All those banks that were failing either let them fail and let capitalism straighten itself up or if they truly were to big to fail than he should have nationalised them got them going rewritten the laws to stop all the bullshit
            • partyboy | 10 months ago | +1 -1
              continued;

they have done including separating wall st and main st again and than floated them when they are stable and profitable which would have benefited Obamas boss: the American ppl.

This is not to say that obama is worse than Bush, no way bush has destroyed the world and I am not sure we can recover from it and this mitt ronemy dude is apart of the problem too who will fuck the world even worse than bush did.

So i hope Obama wins he has to but I am just so disappointed that he does not do what he says he will as I believe he possibly was Americas last chance but now the course Bush set you guys on with no one to change course im not sure what will happen in the world but its gonna get messy.
