I hate the way this shit looks, but before this, it was baggy pants. Before that, ripped jeans. Before that, bell bottoms. Before that, denim pants. Every generation of youth seems to wear shit that pisses the previous generation off.

I own a couple fast-food joints and we get kids coming in all the time asking for applications that dress like this, with their tight ass pants or pants down to their knee's walking like penguin. I ask them before I give them the ap, "will you be wearing your pants that way when you're working?" If they say no, they get the ap. If they say yes, no ap.

What I don't understand is if the purpose is to get him to change his mind...why all of the laughter?

I wouldn't have allowed him to be snickering because that shows he wasn't taking it seriously.

And the constant parade of people walking past him as he is berated is amusing as well.

Especially the toddler who at one point get's up on him real close, looks up at him and I swear I could imagine him saying,
