This is a city that suffers for the drugs you do. This is what comes from you thinking that your high is more important than the law. This is the reality that you don't see, this is what your denial brings. This is the harm in your high.

My high kills no one, I grow my own. Simple solution, legalize all drugs.

Or we can burn another trillion in “nation building”.

Almost the same here, all my weed is locally grown. Who the fuck imports and smokes dry ass foreign bud anyway? Quicker, cheaper and faster to just grow it here.
    • deleted | 1 year ago | +2
Legalize it put an age limit on it and tax the hell outta it like alcohol and tobacco, it would sell for less than it does on the street, get drug dealers off the streets and rapidly stomp out drug cartels
  • the1armman | 1 year ago | +8
Don't preach to me about my drugs. Governments made drugs illegal so they have an excuse to throw people in jail. If they made them legal then all that shit would go away. If they were serious about stopping this violence then they would have troops on the borders and have drones killing these drug lords.

They made drug illegal because of the incredible harm they do. The only people that go to jail are those that deserve it. The violence comes because people refuse to take resposibilty for their actions. You selfishly want to get high, you violate the law to do so. To get you those drugs others violate the law to get them to you. You and your selfishness is the problem not the law.

If you knew what you were talking about you would know that Marijuana was made illegal as a way to control minorities. And it's origin is pure racism...So the1armman is right..

Not to mention conflict of interest with cotton production!!!

Actually it was Mexicans that were targeted by early marijuana laws. Southern whites seized on the fact that many Mexican immigrants in the early nineteen hundreds smoked weed and used it as a way to dehumanize them by saying that they would rape white women and that smoking "loco" weed would give them super human strength....In 1927 A Texas senator on the senate floor declared that "All Mexicans are crazy and marijuana is the reason why" Nothing based in science or fact just plain old bigotry. That's why it is illegal
            • JimmyMac | 1 year ago | +2 -2
I was always lead to believe it was the Hearst family and their newspaper empire! Hemp was a cheap way to manufacture paper (rather than logging) so he used his media and political sway to demonize it! texas really are a shower of backward fucks tho. Bring on the negs

dude, you sound like a fuckin moron. 99% of the weed kids smoke anymore is American grown, in fact it's our largest cash crop now with I believe 17 states OKing the medicinal use. It's the coke heads who support the cartels, and that shit isn't even that dangerous...we should just do what Portugal did.
            • TheFlavMan | 1 year ago | +5
              Wrong!!!
number one cash income for cartels is weed, coke and meth come second my friend....
            • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
You my friend are a moron because it is not.

            • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1 -1
They don't bring the death and pain that drugs do.
              • deleted | 1 year ago | +1
Cigarettes don't harm people? Soda is nothing but liquid sugar ,fast food . Obesity is one of the biggest health problems in the country... you every hear of heart disease or diabetes....
                • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +2
They only effect the person. They don't cause abnormal behavior.

alcohol causes more violence than weed... have you ever seen a stoned wife beater?
                    • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
Yes, quite a lot of them.

Exactly how much contact have you ever had with drug users and sellers? I have around 20 years experience or better dealing with them on a regular basis.
                          • fkbisme | 1 year ago | +3
I knew you were a fucking cop! Here's a link (I've sent this to you before but I know you've never clicked on it) to an org. created by your fellow law enforcement officers. These are DEA officers, ATF officers, customs agents, street cops, judges, etc. that are smart enough to know the harm the war on drugs has created. Click on it and read, you may learn something but I doubt it.
                            • CaptainFlyscratch | 1 year ago | +1
haha. I love that link just check out the horrorific chaos caused by drugs in Amsterdam...I mean, it's terrible and so frightening the sheer terror surrounding the drugs scene in this country with no prohibition...LOL

That's what I figured. You refuse to see something from another side. I don't know why I bother.
                          • CaptainFlyscratch | 1 year ago | +2
about the same as you. I have seen both sides and have lived in the culture. Have you ever lived in that culture?
                            • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
I grew up in it yes. My oldest brother was a trafficker. I know the culture and the people and there are as many or more violent pot heads as there are any other drug abuser.
                              • CaptainFlyscratch | 1 year ago | +2
OK Zoid....you keep believeing that. I have never met a pothead that is violent on a high. I have met violent people who use a combination of Pot, Booze, Meth or coke, but never a violent person on a purely pot high.
                                • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
Yeah you have never been around it much then.

yes, yes I have Zoid. I'll bet every violent pothead you have met has been under the influence of something else as well.
                            • fkbisme | 1 year ago | +1
                              That's what I figured.

If you have seen " a lot of them " it is because you hang around with sociopaths... the weed smoking has nothing to do with it... People use a substance to justify antisocial behavior all the time...
                        • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
And alcohol has nothing to do with drunk driving.
                          • deleted | 1 year ago | +1
Thanks for sticking to the subject, you said you have seen lots of stoned wife beaters and now you are babbling about drunk drivers. For someone who claims to lead a sober morally high life you can't follow a fucking conversation for shit..

as an irishman who both smokes and drinks, let me way in! i know literally hundreds of me fellow country men who are "nice guys", but once they get drunk they become hateful bitter scumbags who would punch their own brother out of sheer ignorance! Now i have many a fellow country stoner friend, they smoke weed, watch southpark and giggle to themselves! they certainly dont wake up with their shirt ripped and dried blood on their face not knowing how the fuck they got home!

      • TheFlavMan | 1 year ago | +1
why tobacco and alcohol not illegal?!?! they cause incredible harm as well and even more so than some of the "illegal" drugs like weed or shrums
        • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
I am ok with alcohol being illegal but tobacco only harms the one that smokes it.
          • deleted | 1 year ago | +1
Funny, you smoke cigarettes so some how they are ok......bit of a hypocrite I would say....

          • MrJones | 1 year ago | +1
And what about all the poor bastards anywhere near the smoker that have to share the cigarette when smokers light up?
  • bobster | 1 year ago | +7 -2
Um zoid, thanks for renewing my belief that drugs should be legalised, as that would stop this fighting for territory and control of supply routes. If they were legalised then the drug manufacturers could just cross the boarder. So zoid by keeping drugs illegal YOU are causing this to continue.
    • the1armman | 1 year ago | +2
I don't think you should do drugs anymore. It's totally fucked up your spelling ability. ;-)
      • bobster | 1 year ago | +1
haha please don't start the american vs english spelling debate. As for drug use, I don't use any, alcohol is the only drug I use and I use it recreationally, alcohol and adrenaline. I've smoked weed once in my life and didn't enjoy it.
        • the1armman | 1 year ago | +1
you must have not smoked enough weed then or way too much your first and only time. Weed much better than alcohol. No hangover and you can drive home in about an hour. ;-)

As these cartels are the major controllers of product,,, guess who would still be in control of supplies if you legalize.
      • SteakSauce | 1 year ago | +5
if it were legal, nobody would be in control of the product, because your neighbor in fucktard Kentucky could grow pot or poppies or coca, and make the shit himself. that would literally take the power out of there hands, and all the money too. you think dispensaries of pot buy that nasty mexican shwag crap? hell no they buy local. moron, USA could turn a real profit, by regulating and taxing drug consumption. and cutting the bills for the police in half or more. that means less arrests less people in jail for victimless crimes, and more money to protect the public from violent crime.
        • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
Of course they would be. They have control now and would only come out front with their supply lines.
          • TheJoekenorer | 1 year ago | +2 -1
Until someone makes a better, cheaper product. face it, legalization doesn't aim to improve business for Mexico, the reason these cartels are fighting so fiercely for territory is because Americans are smoking WAY more homegrown than ever before, because it's cheaper, faster and easier to grow high quality weed here than it is to import dry schwag from down there. Cocaine is pretty much all they have left, but it isn't bringing near the revenue that pot was.

Legalization is the best thing that can happen with marijuana, and cocaine too in the whole scheme of things.
            • Tboner | 1 year ago | +1
Mexican cartels make tons and tons of Meth each year. Cocaine is not their only export. Meth is cheap to make and they make a hefty return.
              • TheJoekenorer | 1 year ago | +1
Meth is quite obviously destructive and at a very rapid rate, I can't suggest legalizing it. But if that's all they have left then you know they'll be hurting for income. They can't just sell more meth because the wider it is known the less it is abused, simply because people already see it as a terrible drug. Just like crack cocaine faded from popularity decades ago. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of crack heads out there, but since it became an obvious and mainstream "bad drug", usage dropped radically. I don't know anyone who wants do smoke crack or meth except for meth and crack addicts, almost everyone who hasn't tried them refuses to.

Just an observation, I still agree with your comment.
                • SteakSauce | 12 months ago | +1
legalize it all, divert the money from the drug war to education and rehabilitation, like all the other countries that are having success.
      • bobster | 1 year ago | +2
That may be true, but at least people will not be getting killed over it like nowadays.
        • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1 -2
If the same people are in control why would they not still kill each other. Just because you make murder legal it does not stop the victims from dieing.
          • bobster | 1 year ago | +3 -3
that made no sense. During prohibition gangs killed each other for control of territories and supply chains. Do you see liquor reps and companies killing each other after the prohibition? So no they wouldn't kill each other, the reason being that legitimate business runs off contracts not fear like illegitimate business. The current situation means that if party A kills party B they will inherit their territory, in a legitimate business environment there will be no motive to kill anyone as the business will still have the contract. i.e. If party A kills party B then party C will gain control of the business where party C is the beneficiary or heir to party B. Party A stands to gain nothing but a criminal record and jail time. So short answer, NO they will not carry on killing each other.
            • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
The cartels are not the old moonshine gangsters.
              • bobster | 1 year ago | +2
What's the difference? By old moonshine gangsters you're referring to capone and their gangs? Cause yes they were also extremely violent.
                • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1 -1
The cartels are a multinational group they have operations in America, Europe, Africa and many other nations. They are not going away.
                  • bobster | 1 year ago | +1 -1
so the moonshine gangsters weren't multinational groups?

Mostly they were only one city,,, Chicago one group New York another and they ran whiskey from Canada. The Cartels run most of Mexico especially the Northern and gulf coast.

Hey Mexico, pass more gun laws! That'll stop them car-tels!!
    • TheFlavMan | 1 year ago | +2
actually most of the fire power they have come from US citizens that bring that shit in to Mexico. If you want to buy a gun In Mexico you have to go to the streets and get it... no walmart prices for guns or ammo in Mexico.

I'm sorry zoidberg but the reasong for what is shown on the film is not that there are people who get high. The reson is that in Juarez are a bunch of criminals who cannot get along because of their greed. Drugs occure all over the world, we have them in Europe too, but you don't see drug dealers massacring each other for territory. And yes, legalization would make 360 degree change. Cartels would simply change into companies, running legitimate businesses, paying taxes, insurance for their employees, and being business competitors. You don't see coca cola and pepsi employees shooting each other on the streets do you?
    • zoidberg | 1 year ago | +1
The criminals exist because so many want to get high and don't even think of the cost. They only care about their high and be damned the twenty people that died to get it to them after all pot never hurt anyone.
      • CaptainFlyscratch | 1 year ago | +1
the most successful drug dealers are the ones that don't use. Your ignorance of drug culture is a bright shining beacon that points to stupidity. Given you have no experience with or about drugs, you should shut your fascist mouth.

Yes part of it is that this dumb motherfuckers can't get along and "share" busyness. but we have seen in the past that prohibition and violence go hand and hand.

I love how the uploader tries to place the blame on drug users. In reality, the drug cartels and resulting violence are a direct result of drug criminalization in the US. The "War on Drugs" is single-handedly responsible for the development of the drug cartels because we create the market for the criminals. The harsher they make the punishments for drug charges, the more profitable the drug trade becomes(higher risk, higher payoff). If America decriminalized drugs like they did in Portugal years ago, drug violence would drop significantly and our prisons would empty.

The drugs were illegal before you were born. All of your life you knew they were illegal. No one put a gun to your head and forced you to break the law you do it by choice so it is your doing that the cartels have power and kill. If you obey the law they have nothing because there is no demand.

I suppose you blame people from the 20s for mafia violence too huh? Why not try thinking before you speak for a change. Prohibition is a failed policy, I know it's difficult to comprehend, but try wrapping your head around it.
