The facts of this case are cut and dry. Some dumb slut put her $6,500 Rolex loosely into the security bin at Fort Lauderdale Airport and LEFT IT THERE. A minor league move if I've ever seen one; you stuff the valuables in a carry-on pocket, everyone working with a full set of chromosome knows that. Now, after she leaves the guy behind her in line eventually notices the watch. Initially, he looks like he wants to get it back to her until he flips it over and sees that "ROLEX" staring back at him. So he keeps it.

The question here remains: Is he a thief that stole the watch OR does this finders-keepers scenario remove him from any wrong-doing even if it was worth $6,500?

Before you answer, keep in mind that this might have turned out differently if he discovered a fucking Timex. For one, he'd have probably returned it. And second, no one would probably consider this stealing if he didn't.

If I fount it on a street I'd take it and will try to find an owner using a S/N (it usually works with an expensive stuff like this). If an owner couldn't be found, I'd sell it and keep the money, not gonna wear someones watches. To me it's like panties... too personal. If it would happen in some public place like this I'd contact security and give them the watch writing down the exact place and time where it was found and the name of the security officers that I was dealing with... I'm a long time recreational fishermen and often fish with people wealthy enough to buy $10000 gears. I once found a spinning reel (ZeeBaas 27 $1000) on the beach. Took me under an hour to find an owner using the S/N. You can't even imagine how happy he was to get HIS reel back. The happiness on his face meant much more for me thn money. If I found something valuable (don't care about the price), I'd do my best to find an owner. If an owner can not be found, the thing would be sold and money kept... YES, the guy is a theft.

A watch is too personal? Like panties? Where the fuck do you wear your watch?

Should he be arrested as such? Would it be different if it was a $20 Timex?
      • Iraqvet | 1 year ago | +3
Well stealing is stealing..But there is a difference between petit theft and grand larceny...I would be mad if someone stole $20 from me...But those feelings would be multiplied if someone stole like $20,000....Higher value equals higher calssification of crime..

"Higher value equals higher calssification of crime.." Funny you say it. Our (and any other) government steals billions from people and get away with it. Someone steals a wallet with $10 in it and go away for 10 years...

Oh boy, here we go again...You can always buy a boat and keep it in international waters in the middle of the ocean...
            • ArtemNY | 1 year ago | +2
              No I can't ALWAYS buy a boat...

The problem with government stealing from there people is that there's no one who's legit to hold them in the court of law and press charges against them. Totally out of league.

I'd do the same, except I would sell it as I have no need for a flashy watch. That watch is worth almost as much as my income tax was, I could spend the money from selling it on much more useful things.

He could cry INTRAPMENT and so- as it goes- be awarded the watch and free air fare for life to any one of our hundreds of vacation destinations... including accommodations and meals.....IF, THE PRICE IS RIGHT!

  • Tboner | 1 year ago | +6
If this guy didn't take it I am sure a TSA agent would have. I wouln't have touched it and left it right where it was.
    • Roodboy | 1 year ago | +2
Dude, you ain't fuckin kidding. TSA is notorious for stealing shit. Do a Google search and there are tons of stories. Fuck them!
      • bigblackjake | 1 year ago | +1
that's exactly why i would have called to her: because you KNOW some tsa douche has a houseful of "found" shit already.
  • Cigarmann | 1 year ago | +5

        • jailyjones | 1 year ago | +2 -1

it was a G-shock....I need to find a rich chick to fist me next time
  • Risen | 1 year ago | +4
of coarse that guy took the watch. after he stole those shoes and coat and backpack... I would like to think I would have picked it up and tried to give it back to the lady. after all A rolex is expensive but a thank you bj is priceless.
  • Iraqvet | 1 year ago | +4
I have a pretty high level of integrity...One can define themselves on what they do when one isn't being watched....This guy is a thief..Jerry Sandusky is a pedo child molester, but no one knew until the story broke...In one moment,he was redifined from the nice family man to a sexual predator...Always try to do the right thing...
  • gingernut | 1 year ago | +3
Ask yourself a question. If it was your 6 grand watch, you would want someone to be honest and hand it in. Flip side though. What a dumb cunt.
  • 2ndhandsmoker | 1 year ago | +3
Its easy to stand on the moral high ground on the outside looking in. I would love to say I'd return it. But I've never been faced with this dilemma. It was hard enough to return a $50 bill when it was mistakenly placed in my change for a $20, but I did it. A $6,500 watch on the other hand might be too strong a temptation. But I'd like to think I'd return it.
    • ArtemNY | 1 year ago | +2
You'r being honest. And I think that if you returned $50 bill, you'd return a $6000K watch too...
      • thugslim | 1 year ago | +2
A $6000000 watch? I thought only diddy did it
  • deleted | 1 year ago | +4 -1
If he didn't take it, someone else would have. Good for him.... Too fucking bad for her.
  • CaptainFlyscratch | 1 year ago | +3
It is theft, and there are cameras everywhere at a security screening at an airport, so the dude was stupid to think he would get away with it....but it is also stupidity on the part of the person who left it there without checking the bins.
    • Criosphinx | 1 year ago | +1
True.down to the bare bones. But one had to think. Why do we lock our doors when we leave our house? Fo we honestly think that everyone around us is a thief or can we trust our fellow neighbor. She may have left it. Partly her fault.yes.but can we trust others to do the right thing? All I gots to say is karma is a b!Tchaikovsky.
  • Cigarmann | 1 year ago | +3 -1
...ok only thing I am thinking about is the fact that she is a slut....hell with the watch.....
    • MrJones | 1 year ago | +3
CM you have a penchant for highlighting what the most important things in life are for us all. Plus for you my good man. And I whole heartedly concur.
    • deleted | 1 year ago | +3

      • partyboy | 1 year ago | +2 -1
back in the day when phone were really expensive i found this ercisson flip phone at the time prob worth around $2k i was gonna keep it but i saw this really hot chick all upset looking for it and returned it to her only to find out she was a stripper and hooked a very gratful 17 year old and his mates with free tipping dollars booze and a blowjob for me so yes its good to return things
        • jailyjones | 1 year ago | +2
but if she was a ginger with a club foot and an eyepatch you'dve said to hell with it and sold it on craig's list, right?
          • partyboy | 1 year ago | +1
na probaly not as i would have felt sorry for her...WAIT did you say ginger hell no i would have not helped a ginger...seriously if i had not seen the person I would have kept it.
    • FeckWeed | 1 year ago | +1

  • friendlygarfield | 1 year ago | +2
been a man whom has traveled abit - i have called people back whom have forgotten their laptops and stuff - sadly i believe alot of us do not see it in the same way i do - yes in my opinion he is a thief and should be found guilty besides - having my experiences of travel - i know that these areas are all controlled by cams - it will be stupid to try like this bloke did
    • MrJones | 1 year ago | +2
Nail, hit on the head FG. She may be a dumb shit for leaving it there but he certainly is a thief for taking it when he damn well knew the owner could be easily found.
      • friendlygarfield | 1 year ago | +1
yes she may be "dumb" as many believe - could it not be the "excitement " or stress going through one of those for the first time or ...- go to your local airport and ask what all is "forgotten" behind on aircraft - you will be surprised
        • 2ndhandsmoker | 1 year ago | +1
I left my virginity in the bathroom of an airplane once, never did get it back.
  • XantesFire | 1 year ago | +2
Guy is a thief, he knew who it belonged to. And it doesn't matter if it was a cheap watch or an expensive one, he still had no right to take it.
  • Drummerer | 1 year ago | +2
Obviously, you're under constant surveillance at the security check points. That guy was an idiot. Karma will come back for him. I would have turned it over to a TSA agent. If they kept it, oh well. My conscience would be clear. And it would have been on camera as well.
  • Mujaman | 1 year ago | +2
I'd turn it in for some favours... *muahahahahah*
  • Wehrmacht | 1 year ago | +2
dumb slut? She forgot her watch. The fucking geneous you must be, I bet you never forgot anything. And talk about minor league? That punk is in a fucking AIRPORT!! Does he think he is invisible? Just invisible to camera's? And to all you douche bags that justified it, are fucking thieves. He didn't just find it. He saw who left it, stashed it away from her view, and bailed as fast as he could. Best part was the look up to the camera so we could get a good portrait for the pigs. He might as well be a pick pocket. I cut some slack for people in dire straits, but if your getting off a plane with a laptop, you shouldn't be stealing fucking watches.
    • Whadafuk4 | 1 year ago | +1
Yes! Dumb slut... if you had a 6500 dollar watch you would have it on. So you would actually know to put it back on. OR leave it at home in the first damn place.

A few months ago i found a wallet full of money in a shopping mall and hand it to security filling a few forms. I don`t like to take advantage of other`s misfortune. Not to mention that wallet had a passport in it, so that unlucky fuck would have been in deep shit. And what this guy did, in some countries is considered stealing.
