Those who don't are (hopefully) happy with their choice and are soon aware of the public's reaction to them. I have a few large pieces but my zombie pin up girl is visible about 90% of the time. I'm fine being known as the chick with the tattoo because many people's first impressions are based on looks anyways and they're usually wrong. reply

• j18speed posted 5 months ago rate it: good poor It's my experience that people can't help but notice something colorful and a large colorful tattoo is going to cause people to 'pre-judge'. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's human nature. I think piercings, tattoos, body mods, what have you, cause people to make pre-mature decisions about you and as a result have the ability to limit your success. It's unfortunate, but it happens quite a bit. You can take that attitude that the only people that matter are the ones that take the time to get to know you, but it's not a fact that the only people that have influence over your success and livelyhood will be people that take the time to get to know you. Again, not right or wrong, but often the tendancy. Lots of people are successful with them but I believe it adds a degree of challenge. reply

For example many people I know with very visible mods (talking stretced nostrils, facial tattoos, implants etc) work with technology so it matters not how they look at all. But yes if someone wants for example a career in sales they best hold off on the visible mods. reply
