Thats odd, its actually within the mandible not the soft tissues of the mouth as i'd expected. Never seen that before and have scrubbed for in Max fax surgery quite a lot!
I had one, (much smaller though) located in my upper right jaw. Ate away about 1 1/2" long and 1/4 round, (almost a cylinder) of the bone and needed a mini graft from my shin. It was originally in the soft tissue but migrated due to a partly healed broken jaw from when I was a teen. It formed about four or five years later originally as a result from a poorly capped molar, (last one before my wisdom tooth). This may be from something similar.
....I got some beef in my teef and some chicken too...OUCH! thats a cavity, HEY! thats new...and if you dont brush your teeth , then kids you too can be a yuck mouth.
