FROM www.CoralSpringsTalk.com : Coral Springs resident Tia Spath wants to find the man whose pitbull killed their family cat. Spath, who lives in Ridgeview was shocked to find out that their cat named Mama had been killed at her family business, Brandy Bail Bonds, in Fort Lauderdale. She says that Mama had been their pet for almost 12 years and was a fixture at the business. In this shocking sureveillance video, the owner of a pitbull is seen walking on the property of Brandy Bail Bonds while following his dog's lead to get closer to the cat, when the pitbull viciously attacks. The dog's strong jaws become locked around the cat and won't release. The man then tries to pull the cat out of the dog's mouth, even stepping on the cat's stomach. He finally he pulls the dog away, runs away, and leaves the cat for dead. Mama later died of her injuries and is buried at the business.

I have a male pitbull, two mutts, and two cats living in the same house. The crew Is dominated by the oldest mutt and the oldest cat. Animals like children have personalities that need molded. I can stop the dogs from infighting with a raised eyebrow and not a word spoken. Cats are different but back down also. Owners that don't train there animals are the problem.

Cue the cat-haters and the "pitbulls are dangerous" arguments.

All I know is that I would rip that dog's throat out with my bare hands and feed it to his owner if that ever happened to my cat.

I would like to see you try to rip out a pit bulls throat with your bare hands.

A cat on a lead? WTFF? Surely this was a small dog?
                • dv8nme | 11 months ago | +2
Another case of a dog that doesnt obey its owner (pitbull or otherwise) a well trained dog that respects its owner would have stopped immediately. period.

True in general but if the brain chemistry has been altered, the whole self-management process fails.

Wait, you hate dogs? after standing by a less emotionally complex animal? Thats like saying you hate chimps, but love amoebas because theyre more worthy to live
            • TheObamessiah | 11 months ago | +1
Loyalty and blind obedience are not emotions.
              • dv8nme | 11 months ago | +2
Dont tell that to the 3 girls chained in my cellar.
              • Rottweiler | 10 months ago | +1
Loyalty and obedience of a dog is not given by default.
Those traits are earned by the owner.
You talk with contemt about traits that are among the finest, you are truely an ignorant man.
                • TheObamessiah | 10 months ago | +1
Loyalty is a virtuous trait, I admit. Obedience however is no different than complacency - one way or another it leads to tyranny.
                  • Rottweiler | 10 months ago | +1
...and society without obedience would work out well?
Our whole social structure is built on flock mentality and that means that you have to obey those higher up on the hierarchical structure.
There's nothing in obedience in it self that leads to tyrrany, as with everything it has to be applied with balance and common sense.
A dog's obedience and the owners leadership is a beautiful thing when it is in harmony.
I'm guessing you have an issue with authority and that's why you identify with cats. (as I suspect is the case with many catowners).
The problem is that humans are not cats, we don't have the same social structure and interaction, which makes your authority issue a character flaw, it works for the cat, but not for a human when it comes to social interaction.

he just thinks his cat is "empowered" because it doesnt listen or follow commands or give two shits, except in the box he gets to clean up and smell everyday.
          • TheObamessiah | 11 months ago | +1 -2
Come on you pussies! This one still has a way to go. Get to it!
  • Cobbmachine | 11 months ago | +11 -3
O wow, animals doing what animals do. Some one must pay for this! Too bad for the cat, it died and too bad for the dog, it didn't get to keep it's chew toy.
  • ukfan1986 | 11 months ago | +8
Video like this piss me off, mainly cause the value of a pet (by law) is the value of any of the property that you have. If your dog is killed you cannot regained that lost (personal) value that you have "invested" in your pet. Besides how could anyone put a value of losing family pet anyway? Somewhat gay of me to say but my dog is everything that I care about, she's been with me through everything and I would not hesitate...for one second...to instantly take the law in my own hands if anyone ever lays a hand on her

The cat was free at the 15 second mark. He chose his fate.
  • deleted | 11 months ago | +6
At one point it did look like the cat ran back at the dog. I mean why didn't it run in the first place?
    • brazilbilly | 11 months ago | +5 -1
this was terrible but Im also wondering how the cat let the fucker that close
      • TheObamessiah | 11 months ago | +2
Cats are incredibly territorial and won't often relinquish their territory, even to something as large as a pitbull.
        • brazilbilly | 11 months ago | +2
I know what you mean my cat used to swat the shit out of my pitt just for walking by...but my pitt was a sweetie she would carry the cats babies around the house gently like eggs
      • MrJones | 11 months ago | +2 -1
If the people had had the cat for 12 years it was probably old and decrepit and couldn’t move fast enough to get away.
    • deleted | 11 months ago | +1
I saw that too, that cat was pissed and wanted some more... It was probably a dog friendly cat, so it was coo being close, but kujo had other plans... Or the cat attached the dog? Couldn't see how it started

I'll admit I've shot and kill somewhere around 30 pitbulls. The county I live in has a ban on pitbulls cause of attacks on people and other pets.
  • Mew | 11 months ago | +2
Queue the "I've owned over 700 pitbulls", "I let my pitbull watch my baby", and the "pitbulls are no more aggressive than other breeds" comments...

Any dog would do this, its been happening since the dawn of time.
  • corndogg | 11 months ago | +2
My beagle plays with my wife's cats but chases strange cats away. In the video the Owner was at fault for letting the dog come onto the property.
