This was back when you had to actually have talent to get on TV, radio, records, stage or anywhere in front of a paying audience.

Mr Skelton, was a real man and a real American, and a pretty good entertainer too. I loved his show growing up... and it is a shame DD that there isn't any one like him on TV today.

indivisable my ass..... we are so divided now..... but thats how they're taking america apart man... races... sexes... gay... strait... bi.... hipster.... punk.... goth.... country.... christian.... satanist..... budist... muslim.... terrorist....white... black.... theif... sinner.... saint....good... bad.... and yes, the ugly..... i wish we could take SOME of the moral values that RED was talkin bout here with the racial, sexual, and genderal knowledge we do have now a days and put them together, might make for a pretty decent america.... or at least a start at something.... i've never really cared about this country till it needed to be cared for....

We're divided on superficial issues, if 9/11 proved anything, it proved that Americans are always there for each other when it comes down to it.

bullshizzle.... hypocrites... people that dont even believe in God praying to something they have cursed, with people making songs to rape the bleeding hearts of the nation, companies using scare tactics to steal even more money from the people, government using the incident as a way to force new "national security" bullshit on the free people of this nation.... my money and freedom that i used to have b4 911 are not superficial, i do agree with u in some ways Waging but for the most part and after 5 months, the whole just forget and move on, dont care, whats on facebook, ooo an iphone... blahblah......

When Kennedy was shot in the head, the Age Of Innocence began a slow death. News coverage became more immediate and far-reaching. So Americans could no longer afford to be naive. It is not so much that people are done wrong nowadays...people were always being done wrong. It is just now we don't blindly believe in our leaders, in our police, in our doctors, in our corporations. Also, once the MAJORITY of the people are the victims of crime then the veil of Innocence falls like the jeans on a drunk cheerleader. We still hold tight to the fantasy that was once America. We misdirect ourselves with shiny objects and apathy, but were just prolonging Innocence's demise.

i never knew or heard about this man before now what he stated is true and makes me proud to be a human like him we can choose to see that we are divided and different as stated above or we can choose to see we are the same ,united in the goal to do good we all have choices to make - the pledge is your choice - you do not HAVE to live in the USA - you choose to - then make the same choice and live as you should great post :-)
