Come on man you have to give it up for Cara-vag-gio! How many people know of this guys work and his name has "vag" in the middle of it, its perfect. Now keep in mind he did mostly religious works and his "Doubting Thomas" is his most famous and powerful painting. Tell mom she is just a whore for a man in a costume!
I am familiar with Caravaggio and it is a stupendous name drop. I was talking about the Cockwell comment. I prefer the Crucifixion of St. Peter or the Conversion of St. Paul to Doubting Thomas. The comment about your mom hurt me, she likes me for me, and my wallet.
speaking of "cock"... carravaggio sure liked to suck it. appart from that he is one of my all time fav painters. his dramatic lighting and extraordinary skills started a whole school of oil painting. too bad people nowadays think damien hirste is an artist.
If you're going to play the dad role, you're going to have to develop thicker skin. I already don't make blind jokes (because you would have to be to screw my wrinkled old hag of a mother) Those paintings are also good, but when you see Thomas poking the wound in the side of Jesus because he doubts it could really be him its a powerful painting. Keep in mind I am not a believer of organized religion I just really like the painting
Subject matter is powerful, remember the time period and sponsors. Stay away from anything organized, believe because you came to believe through investigation/doubting. Caravaggio took liberties with the subject, as they all did then. He chose the right side for the pierceing hole. I dig his mastery of the furrowed brow, which is most of his religious subjects.
