Now keep in mind he did mostly religious works and his "Doubting Thomas" is his most famous and powerful painting. Tell mom she is just a whore for a man in a costume!
camp89 | 12 months ago | +1I am familiar with Caravaggio and it is a stupendous name drop. I was talking about the Cockwell comment. I prefer the Crucifixion of St. Peter or the Conversion of St. Paul to Doubting Thomas. The comment about your mom hurt me, she likes me for me, and my wallet.

I already don't make blind jokes (because you would have to be to screw my wrinkled old hag of a mother) Those paintings are also good, but when you see Thomas poking the wound in the side of Jesus because he doubts it could really be him its a powerful painting. - camp89 | 12 months ago | +1Subject matter is powerful, remember the time period and sponsors. Stay away from anything organized, believe because you came to believe through investigation/doubting. Caravaggio took liberties with the subject, as they all did then. He chose the right side for the pierceing hole. I dig his mastery of the furrowed brow, which is most of his religious subjects.
