  Actually, you don't.... I speak from experience - I shaved all my hair off (from waist length). I was chatted up more in the 6 weeks it took to grow back to half an inch of spikey stubble than I have ever been! It was fantastic - so liberating. And I even have a photo of me bald in my profile pics.
