Is that why everyone with the means to live here, does?

You so dumb its funny. Mexicans risk there lives and cross the border, Vietnamese come across the OCEAN in small boats, many die, all to get to America. Think again.

They'd be just two of the countries your goverment turned into shit last century. Something I'm missing here?
Yes. The fact that our government, once by and for the people, has been usurped by a party which see's fit to keep the masses ignorant and themselves in power. For any American smart enough to agree with me, there are at least 20 more who will vote for Obama again; or who will throw away their vote instead. Hence our government blustering through foreign affairs, making decisions based on greed and an insatiable appetite for power, without any worry that the general population of our country will notice what's going on; or even have the power to do something about it.
In short, a third country ruined by our lovely political power: America.

Your title understates your wisdom DS. Plus to you. Unfortunately, politics has as much to do with politicians as a car has to do with the badge on the front.
This being true is almost enough to make man want to "free" his own country. As each day passes it seems more and more likely that places like DC will become a total loss to corruption, and ultimately have something to gain from a half dozen or so JDAM bombs.
To destroy the tyranny that has wormed it's way between the cracks of an otherwise sound democracy, one must ultimately seek complete eradication. To leave even one broken piece of this undeniable corruption behind is to allow the cancer to regain it's strength.
Democracy is a great idea for a functioning and prosperous government. It's fatal flaws include greed and ignorance. Or perhaps those are humanity's flaws.

I'm not sure what to say to that really but many of the people that got into country managing did so because they wanted to do the good thing, unfortunately, most modern management practices are great only in theory. Communal living (aka communism), was actually one of the better models in that everyone shared and (theoretically) no person got more than another. but then you get down to I do more work, I am owed more food and many other logical flaws. If weak men hadn't fucked up from day one, this world would be completely functional and without disease or trouble. Elevate someone to a station above their capqacity and cracks will appear. Most cracks appeared due to sex and ego.
I believe that a clear downward spiral in society's intelligence and sense of ethics is the cause of these cracks. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and this generation is doomed to live with the failures of lesser men. When you speak of fucking up from day one I can't help but think of Adam and Eve, maybe you can clear up what you meant by that?
Not bad, but what the US has to do is extend this policy to ALL religious fanatics, get a bomber to fly over Kansas and find the Phelps house and do the same, then go down to Colorado and find Haggard's house, drop a few there...
