And that is why Obama is pushing healthcare on the uninsured. A doctor visit, sterile lancing, removal of infection, cleaned and wrapped, $300. A visit to the ER after poking holes into the wound with an unsterilized stick pin and the wound turning south which then results in arm amputation, 4-8 days in the hospital, pain meds, drip antibiotics, nursing care, massive diarea for a month due to the drip antibiotics...$30,000. Preventive medicine works and saves us a shit load of money. Why do we pay $20 for an aspirin at a hospital? Guys like this. Most likely they give a fake SSI number and walk out in the middle of the night never to be seen again.

        He probably gets youtube points.
      • Barklounger | 1 year ago | +1 -1
How much of the $300 goes to pay for malpractice insurance? Not only for the doctor, but all the products that are used have to be covered in case a additional problem is traced to them. A trip to the veternarian for a similar procedure is less than $100 even the products are identical, but one is produced for humans and is insured as such. Anyone know the stats on the number malpractice claims for the past 100 years? I looked but didn't find much.
        • the1armman | 1 year ago | +1
Malpractice suits are few and far between. Most are dismissed. It's like having flood insurance in a place that hasn't flooded in 500 years. You're better off having it just in case.
        • deleted | 1 year ago | +1
I would guess global malpractice suits have doubled every year for the last twelve years. Largely due to American media.

man there are plenty of bums out there and hospitals going for their family's money for $100,000s... wtf obamacare gonna do for em? how bout those without that $300.. we gonna fine them? cuz there are people in this country without a penny to their name n the only freedom they have is knowing they ain't forced to pay shit if wanted n bout to be fined for no healthcare? man thats being fined for living... n the $20 copayment is so they atlest see something... if you ever looked at your bill from the doctor n how much your health insurance pays out is a fraction of the actual cost... sometimes they call u asking for more then what your insurance company gave em and yet the poor with none have been given the full price with no chance of ever moving up in the world due to such high debt.... if he wanted to do something for the good of all people n not companies n rich doctors it would be free healthcare for all
        • otters4gold | 1 year ago | +1 -2
you should look at the bill, it doesn't expect people without money to be fined for not having health insurance, otherwise that would defeat the intent of covering the 30 million uninsured, and the millions more that flip between insurance and no insurance due to work shortages.

we have a spider here called the White Tailed Spider. Small, like the Brown Recluse....but like everything Australian, it has an extreme reaction...necrotising fasciitis (rotting flesh - turns black, and swollen like the image in the OP, then dies and falls off)
    • RazeCrusher | 1 year ago | +11
For the record, you Aussies have some fucked up creepy critters to deal with.
      • MrRam | 1 year ago | +5
seriously... i think touching anything in australia just results in necrotizing flesh.
        • BLOKE | 1 year ago | +3
In Kings Cross that certainly is the case!
          • MrRam | 1 year ago | +2

      • julian316 | 1 year ago | +4
They got everything that can fuck you up. On a good day they only have rattles snakes on the couch.
        • Potato | 1 year ago | +1
Australia doesn't have rattle snakes, We do however have plenty more poisonous things for your enjoyment.

"Hmm, this spider bite is turning black, causing a pound of pus, and smells like rancid ass...I should poke it...WHERE'S MY VIDEO CAMERA?!?!"
  • dolph9plus | 1 year ago | +4
Im not exactly sure why these people are not in the ER. A mass of infection can turn on you quickly and kill you. Instead they are posting videos. In case you all dont know this, anyone can buy perfectly fine antibiotics at a fish store. Its called FishMox,with no presc needed.

should have scrolled down just a little to see this. I have them in my prepper medic bag. ;-)

The preview pic is nasty enough for me... I didn't even watch it and not going to... If a spider would bite me, I'd be THE FIRST one in a hospital emergency room and get there faster than an ambulance... Spiders, snakes, scorpions etc not kind of shit I'm afraid of, but definitely kind of shit I respect and be extremely careful with...
    • RazeCrusher | 1 year ago | +2
At least with snakes it's easy to tell if the bite is going to cause problems, and scorpions really aren't much of a threat unless you're really unlucky to run across a rare species or severely allergic. But spiders...fuck spiders...
      • ArtemNY | 1 year ago | +2
I don't care... If it bites, I'm not gonna think twice whether it's dangerous or not... RUN TO THE HOSPITAL will be my first thought...
        • RazeCrusher | 1 year ago | +2
I have a pet Ball Python at the moment, and used to have an Emperor Scorpion, so I'm a little biased. Spiders on the other hand are fair game for the bottom of my shoe.

Good idea. My wife was recently hospitalized for 2 days after being bitten on the finger by our cat. She waited about 24 hours to go to the ER cause we didn't think much of it. They put her on IV antibiotics. She could've lost her finger or more.
