After the fall of the Old Republic Emperor Palpatine ordered the integration of non-clone human into the Galatic Empire in order to maximize numbers and to cut costs of cloning technology. The 501st Legion actually contained the last of the clone troopers durring the fall of the Empire. And no, I don't tell that story at bars to get laid.
