If you think that soldiers in Afganistan and Iraq are fighting for freedom or democracy or whatever bullshit the establishment sold you, then you are just swalling the kool-aide they give you. Spit that shit out and wake up to this fucked up world around you, actually go talk to an Iraq vet, my brother is one of them(he's lost the ability to use his right arm), and you'll learn real fast that they don't even know what the fuck they are doing there. We've lost more freedom since 9/11 than anytime in the history of our Constitution and it isn't dipshit Islamofascists stealing them, it's OUR governemnt. Those that give up liberty for security deserve neither and will end up losing both.

I don't think that the war in iraq is fair or just and I believe that all coallition forces should be returned to thier motherlands, however they are fighting in a war that maybe wrong. I have to salute the soldiers on the ground, but would like to spit on the politicians that put them there. The soldiers are not at fault and they have earned my respect, many times over, and thet should have yours.
    • calvo2011 | 5 years ago | +1 -1
i am not trying to say that you are completely wrong but i disagree with you slightly. i too have a brother who has served in iraq twice. he may not know why the government wanted him there but he soon learned why he was supposed to be there. the people there were tortured and oppressed by saddam and his regime. the people there do suffer. but they also thanked men like our brothers for being there and fighting for them and with them. i am truly sorry to hear of the injury that has occurred to your brother. the people there need help and i am sorry that you feel like our government is stealing away our freedoms and liberty to help a suffering people gain what many of us here take for granted every day. rate my reply poorly if you want but if you have the chance to post yours then allow me to post mine.

Post 9/11, why would you trust a genocidal dictator to straighten up his act? I've not lost any freedoms. That remark is just another liberal, agenda-supporting phrase like "bogged down". To say you support the troops but not the mission is ridiculous. One wouldnt be here without the other. I've supported the war since the beginning. And, yes, I have a very good friend who was seriously injured in Iraq...and he sure knew why he was there. He saw it everyday.

another neg without a comment to back it up...didn't like my comment, point out where I'm wrong, you slobbering fucktard. Probably a fat, liberal, whiney housewife...

In all honesty the war should have been fought in '91. If George W's (I think he's a dickwad) Father had had a pair it would have been, and your brothers wouldnt have had to go over there.

in the army for 15 years ! lived it , loved it , over it. there isnt one person who is a SOLDIER over there that hates it ! it is much better than training day in and day out on simulators or lane training . it matters not why we are there to almost all troops , do some research thousands of soldiers die each year from just training. that is the true waste ! some may not like my comments ,for that i feel sorry for you because it is all true. I lost freinds to stupid things like dehydration or heat stroke, run over while sleeping even snake bites ,if they where here now im sure they would have rather died doing something noble or brave .............

If you sign up to the forces you have to expect you will have to fight and no war is fun. So staying up for nights on end, not having running water in a combat situation and get shot at is what they get paid to do. As for them fighting for my freedom, how? They may be trying to keep some Iraqis free but not me, they might at a strech be stopping someone from blowing me up at some point but thats not likely as most terroists in the UK are homegrown, actually the people that blew up London in 05 came from down the road. The only effect i see of the war is the fact my petrol bills going up weekly and thats just a minor annoyance. I respect soldiers and think they are needed and should be supported. I know people who have been killed in Iraq. I don't respect people who wear don't support soldiers clothing and I don't respect the bastard politicians who put the soldiers there in the first place. and I don't respect bullshit propoganda videos trying to convince me this war has a point.

I have had family members come back from other wars or "peace acts" that have never been the same since. What we are shown about what is happening is not the whole truth and I know it. Now even years later they still cry out in their sleep as if the bombs are still falling and the gun shots still being fired. War is not pretty in any sense and I pray for those alive and fallen to protect us. They deserve better than I can give. I wish them all peace and thank them whole heartedly.
    • BabyMakR | 3 years ago
there are people who witness murders on the street every day who are never the same again. The difference here is that there are thousands of cameras over there to interview the soldiers who see it, and so you see it several times a day. but at most you might see 1 or 2 on the news of someone who witnesed a murder, crying, and so it is easier to ignore.

I've always been against war. I've never been against the men and women that fight it.
    • TamLin | 5 years ago
Some wars are worth fighting like the ones which really threaten your existence. If i was around during WW2 Id sign up, I`d die in minutes but i`d still be there.

And seriously, I hate Josh Groban so much. I get physically ill when I hear his music.
  • notanomad | 5 years ago | +5
bullshit. This video utilizes the BUSH tactic of conflating issues. It conflates supporting the troops with supporting the war in Iraq. It conflates patriotism with imperialism. It is pure propoganda, preying on those too ignorant to conceptualize the difference between these issues. And it also shows clips of Phelp's followers, conflating them with others who see the war in Iraq for what it really is. Truth is, you can be a patriot and support the troops WITHOUT supporting the war in Iraq, thus demonstrating that they really are two separate issues. So a big FUCK YOU to whoever made this video, and a big FUCK YOU to Guilia for posting it. BLAM!
    • IishieSquishy | 5 years ago
One must realize that all things are some form of propaganda. Even the history taught in school today. There is no escaping propaganda. The thing is, you can't deny that it is a fact that there are people (troops or others) over there being killed and that's the emotion of this video, I think.
    • R3dneck | 5 years ago
I disagree strongly with this comment.
      • R3dneck | 5 years ago
        Neg away.
        • notanomad | 5 years ago
no. I'll just wait until you say something completely retarded, which shouldn't take too long...
      • notanomad | 5 years ago
I disagree stongly with those who neg, not for some principled reason, but just because their worldview is so screwed up that they "disagree" with anyone who would question it. Fuck you.
    • hoiak | 5 years ago | -1
you are right.. i was about to write down the same thing.
      • calvo2011 | 5 years ago | +1
if videos like this are propaganda then any news story that potrrays the war in iraq in any sort of negative light that you see on such news channels like CNN or MSNBC can also be considered propaganda. food for thought
        • hoiak | 5 years ago
why the fuck you think the u.s.a invaed iraq? not becouse of sadam hosain , becouse of oil . the govermant was searhing for a reson to invade in that contry. i dont think that few arabs with small lil guns and a donky to fuck considerd a therat to the u.s.a.
          • calvo2011 | 5 years ago
yes.....we invaded for oil. we overthrew the govt. now we have another source of oil. which is why we pay only a quarter for a gallon of gas.
      • notanomad | 5 years ago
I cannot fucking believe that hoiak got negged for simply agreeing with me. Fucking ridiculous! Cat needs to put a stop to these assholes.
        • calvo2011 | 5 years ago
i dont get it either. i didnt even think of negging him as much as i dont agree with him i still dont think his agreeing with you deserves a neg. i mean hell you got a plus 3
  • Dace | 5 years ago | +4
Despite what you think about the war, or any war, the soldiers are not to blame. Respect them. "Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do & die,"
  • deleted | 5 years ago | +4
Some pay some. Some pay all. I support all our service men and women, If I see a solider in a line to get something in the airport I pay for it, and tell him/her to save their money to call home. I pray the war does not come to american soil but if it does I will do my part with out hesitation or reservation.
    • yanidez | 5 years ago
i'll be right behind you brother
  • trim | 5 years ago | +4
for me I didnt care why I was over their for. Thats above my pay grade. I did care about the men/women next to me. Some even told me that they were scare not knowing that i was scare myself. every one has there opioin but what gets to me is when people talk with out a care in life and they dont even know what the fuck there talking about. Just cause they saw something on CNN. theres a lot of good being done in both countries. to join. A mistake we might have made but who am i to say. We just cant pull out now the country would get worst in a heart beat. Not taking a shower for weeks is no problem for me while over there but a lil support from every one would be good for the troops.

I have friends from both Canada and the USA that have died over there and they have no idea why. We all need to see what is really going on not just what the government wants us to see. When I saw this I thought of good morning Vietnam and the seen in it when Robbin started to tell what was really going on and how he got caned for it. He was right then and it is right now we have a right to know what is going on. Bless them all.
    • deleted | 5 years ago
So you're putting words in your dead friends' mouth and saying they didn't know why they were there. Morbid. You should be ashamed.
      • pogomama | 5 years ago
no they had wrote me and said they did not know what they where doing there. so i am in no way ashamed of saying it.
  • bignig007 | 5 years ago | +3

      • bignig007 | 5 years ago | +1
yeah i know he will because he is strong and he can handle what ever they throw at him. i done told him if he even gets a splinter in his finger and i hear about it me and all my native brothers are getting a plane and going over there to get him and his platoon. but i know he won't get hurt.
    • Arcanum | 5 years ago | +1

Big deal, they all joined, none of them have to be there. What did you think was going to happen when you signed up as a soldier? Deal with it and quit making us feel quilty. You fight, we pay your salary, so shut the hell up already.

  • dirtyphil | 5 years ago | +2
Worthless ass Clinton was too busy having dinner with Osama to declare war on him. They were together several times and were "friends", yet Bush is the asshole for being the first president in the last 50 years to actually fight back against a terrorist attack. How many embassys and bases on foreign soil were attacked and nothing was ever done? This has turned into a clusterfuck but mainly because the media is allowed into combat. You honestly think that during WWI and WWII everyone fought politely? There was some sick shit going on from both sides but the media was kept out of it so it's all good. Freedom of the press is an American right, Iraq is not America so the press has no business declaring that the military has to let them film because the bill of rights says so. War is ugly. War isn't meant to be veiwed by civilians. War is hell. If you really want to know for sure what's going on over there, head to the mall and sign up for a free set of clothes and they'll be happy to show you first hand and then
