Well, these are marines, not army soldiers...Their corpsman (medic) is the one who actually got hit...This is what hapens when guys over there simply don't think...This situation could have been prevented..

It's war. Don't say "This is what happens when people over there don't think" The whole war could have been avoided if the guys over here "who weren't thinking" stopped 9-11. Shit Happens enjoy today because that's all you got. And it doesn't matter who they are if they are there defending the good ol' US of A. I say Thank You and get back alive.

I've been to war...And yes, shit happens when people DON'T THINK...By the conversation in the video, it sounds like those were controlled blasts...If they were MY guys, they all would have been laying on their stomachs until the all clear was given..Makes a little more sense to do doesn't it?..Hind sight always 20/20...

I agree. In my opinion the commanding officer should have been disciplined or demoted for not ordering his soldiers to lay flat on their stomachs while the explosions were going off. That man could have been killed because of his carelessness.

And that shrapnel was skimming along the ground... if he was laying down hed have got hit in the face. Its just one of those things you do a million times then it goes wrong once. But they shoulda been further away not having to lay prone.

Incorrect. Watch the video. If they had been laying down the piece of shrapnel would have passed over their heads without making contact.

I think you should watch the video. Most of them were crouched and the person filming was crouched. If you notice the 2 frames you could see the object in it was cutting through the grass. The shrapnel couldn't have been more than 6 inches off the ground and was skipping along it. I think you just want to argue honestly.

One of the first things I learned from Basic, was never, I mean never feel the need to WATCH an explosion. There is always shrapnel. Unless you wanna come home looking like Quasimodo.  He might have still been hit, but it was less likely to have been life threatening if he was laying down.

And for the retard above laying Down with your face in the dirt and your Helmet on your head does not result  with getting hit in the face.

This guy was lucky one that his face didn't get fucked, and that his vest absorbed the impact.

                  Hoorah, mother fucker!!!

And a plus to you for explaining the advantage of the prone position with a little intelligence. I think that if he had been in the prone position it would have just raked his back a little and wouldn't have even knocked the wind out of him. Had he been standing I bet he would have lost a leg. Lucky indeed.
