I suppose I would agree - it still shows the power of the word. We can use and overuse words like "dick" and "cock" - the male references - and not many people would bat an eyelid. I can even say to a friend phrases like, "Come on, don't be a dick" and we would remain friends. However, if I ever called them a "cunt", that would be the end of the friendship...
but it is just the "descisin" to make the word ( or any word) have that much power. I mean take the play the Vagina monologues ( it is a tedious affiar full of man hating diatribs, but is poular beyond belief) and the author says that eh word Cunt must be reclaimed by womem, so that its power to offend or hurt is lost. like the rap culture embracing the use of the "N" word, or gay folks calling themselves "fags" or "queens" But in truth. words only have the power to hurt because we endow and empower them with strength and a razors egde
Words only have the power to hurt if you allow them to. Call me a cunt and I'll laugh in your face. It only shows me you have no vocabulary skills. Besides, I have better things to do in life than become angry over a silly little word.
Yes......absolutely correct. Anyone who is offended, hurt, or threatened by a word is, to say the least, a weak minded wimp. Furthermore, when we start to even DISCUSS the banning of a word. ANY word,...... then we would also have to ban any literature that contained that word. All because someone is offended by a word? Ridiculous
