If you are going to eat the meat of the animal, then why chuck away the skin. If you kill it, use ALL of it.
You know.. all those PETA protestors always go after old frail ladies in fur coats. Why don't they go after those dude who wear leather and belong to motorcycle clubs???? HMMMM?????

Back in the early 80's in Australia when they still had lion parks, you could drive up into an open area like the above picture. There would be lions all over this area, and there was seriously nothing stopping anyone from getting out of their cars. A dude would be in a cage on the back of a truck and he would chuck out big chunks of meat to get the lions fed and get them moving around to woo the crowd. Probably plenty of near misses of parents stopping kids from "patting the kitty". But back in the days of no internet and no digital media, I personally never heard anything bad, but all that means is I never heard of it. No idea how many actual cat-munching-person events happened.
They shut down in the late 80s, mostly once hunting stopped being "fashionable". I do remember the gift shop where you could buy pelts and mounted lion heads.
