RazeCrusher replied to IZHMASH's comment on Assisted Suicide

I know how that is. My cousin Nicholas was older than me when I was a kid, but he had CP really bad. He couldn't do anything but lay on the couch, his muscles atrophied to the point where he looked like a skeleton with a head attached. You could talk to him and he might smile, but couldn't react. According to the doctors he could understand everything that was going on, and hear when you talked to him, but it was like being trapped where his body just couldn't react or enact what his brain was trying to tell it. He made it to around 20-21 before he died, but I can't even imagine being in that position. At least he was never neglected at least.

RazeCrusher commented on atropos's Assisted Suicide

If it got to the point where the person really, truly wanted to die and there was absolutely NO hope that they would get better or cured, then yea, I would. Like said, there are legal issues that would have to be dealt with, but if the legal thing were out of the way, then sure. That's also assuming they couldn't do it themselves. If they could off themselves, then they should do it instead of putting me in that position, if they're brain-dead or in so much pain that they can't, then I could be a friend and step up. The way I look at it, if I were in that position, I would want someone to do it for me too.

RazeCrusher commented on bigpapa's Do looks matter?

It sucks, but it's human nature to look for aesthetics and pleasing features in anything and everything. You could be the least superficial person on the planet, but when you see another person your brain deduces whether you find them attractive, what features you like most and what you don't, and then makes a judgement about that person based on those features. We like to think that we aren't superficial, but it's hardwired into our brains since the primitive days of looking for certain traits in mates. It's whether or not we let those first impressions sway our judgement. When you see someone, say a 9 or 10 with a slobby looking 3 or 4, have to remember the small things that cause physical attraction. Humor, attitude, confidence, money (sadly), and social status. Human nature. We can try to avoid it, but can't get rid of it completely.

I don't disagree that we've done a lot of bad things involving war and conflicts, but it's not like we're the only ones out there, no matter how much people want to believe that the "big bad 'muricans are causing war all over the world." Like I said, it comes with the title of being a global superpower. We have money (sort of) we have tech, we have a huge military, and we have geopolitical power, so we find ourselves in the middle of a lot of things that smaller countries don't. It also doesn't help that we're focused on constantly by the media. We have a long reach in the world and it shows.

Name a place on Earth with a large human population that isn't involved in generation after generation of some sort of conflict or another. I never said anything otherwise. But they are the most "popular" and expensive brand I'm aware of, thus the analogy. I had the same problem with my generic brand. (Mistiq) Needless to say I've tried e-cigs, and I'm still smoking, just didn't do it for me. Hopefully others have better luck.

RazeCrusher replied to brohamn's comment on The vape craze

They have a lot of different brands, each one is different pricing. Blu E-cigs for instance, are the Rolls-Royce of e-cigs, and it's like $100 for the starting package that comes with everything (charger, case, 5 or so cartridges, 2 batteries) Cheaper brands you can get all that for $30-$40. Refills come at about $14 or so for 3-5 of them (again, depending on brand) and each refill is around as much as a pack of cigarettes, maybe a pack and a half. Basically it's more expensive at first, but it pays off a bit after smoking them for awhile. Even the strongest % of nicotine isn't quite the same as a real full-flavor though, so beware of that if you like the strong tobacco flavor.

I'd like to know, in this Anarchic Utopia...how it makes sense that letting the government use violence on us all when necessary while preventing violence on each other is somehow worse than letting everyone be violent to each other at all times for any reason they feel like. I kind of like the fact that I don't have to worry about my neighbors sneaking into my house at night, robbing me blind, and killing my family. Maybe I'm just strange like that.

RazeCrusher replied to corndogg's comment on Teen accidentally killed by cop during break in

Agreed, but the difference would be that the cop was doing his job and his responsibility. The citizen would be breaking the laws. (even if they were fully in the right...bureaucratic BS) And yes, he should be held accountable to a degree. He messed up, he made a mistake, and he should answer for it. But not much, I think the fact that he has to live with having killed this innocent girl is punishment enough. But you can ask any cop out there, no matter how much they're "trained" to deal with this sort of thing, it's not the same as actually finding yourself in the middle of it. Why do you think so many soldiers come back with PTSD? They're trained to handle those kinds of situations, but reality is generally much different than the training. It's sad all around, the girl, the cop...and I honestly think the person that should take the full amount of blame is the criminal. Since he's dead that won't happen though.

If you bring someone else in to liven up your sex lives that's one thing. But bringing someone else in because you want to marry another is why I ask if maybe something might be lacking in your current marriage in which you're looking for that extra fulfillment...a gap that has to be filled by a seconds wife. No judgement here, just curious.

Then there are those whom I just strongly disagree with, but that doesn't offend me. Boris, JustenCase, even TheObamessiah and Fapper on occasion. But I look at it as helping me to expand my mind to other viewpoints and how people work psychologically that leads them to think they way they do and believe in the things they do. They also gave out loaves of bread and things like that to the needy. So essentially in some cases you could be doing both, but I get your point.

Religion is just a personal or group belief in a higher being or power. It's what people do with it that gives it a bad name. If it wasn't religion, it would be something else. Hateful people are hateful, religion many times is the scapegoat.

I'm agnostic, borderline atheist. The biggest problem I see is people confusing religion as a whole, with religious zealots. 90% of religious people tend to be quiet about it, and practice in private or small groups, not shoving it down the throats of others, and definitely not killing others over it. But those aren't the ones that get the national spotlight.
Do I think religion makes sense? Not at all...but there is absolutely no harm in the majority of those who practice whatever religion they want to believe while hurting no one in the process.
In developmental psychology I learned a lot about the different paradigms that shape the human brain and our belief structures. For some people their personal paradigms are shaped by their upbringings, others it is religious views, for others it is countless other things. None of them are any better than the other.
But if these religious beliefs are what shape a person to have good morals and values while not harming others, then good on them. Obviously some have-

Was with my best friend back in high school, riding passenger in his crappy little hoopty. Going down gravel roads way too fast. The guy that lived right down the road from me was in his car with his brothers. (The guy was about 6'5" and at least 350 lbs, MASSIVE man) Anyway, they were in front of us, purposely going about 5 mph joking around and swerving if we tried to pass. So at the next little creek bed we came to, my buddy sped around them, about 2 inches from their car. The water from the creek was sent up in a wave that soaked the entirety of this guy's car, and everyone in it. He followed right on our ass the entire way, until my buddy's little stunt drowned his engine, so we were stranded...

Not me. I tend to weigh risks all the time, so I don't find myself in many risky situations. So far have lucked out enough to only have suffered mostly minor injuries and have only been in one small fender-bender car wreck.

Boooooooooo! Sorry, I have a lot of respect for the Redwings, but I also have to hate on your guys. (STL Blues man here.) We always start rocking the season then the Blues come in against their rivals, the Redwings. Have so much trouble with that team. lol

Wife and kids obviously. Also, any kid below the age of a teenager, when they're still innocent. I had a conversation with my older sister awhile back about that, and she flat out told me that if my son, her nephew, or any other kid she didn't know was going to die, and by saving him that meant that she would die, then both my son and any stranger's kid are shit out of luck. I couldn't believe it myself. I don't want my kids to grow up without a dad, but if I had a chance to save someone else's child at the risk of my own life, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. My nephew almost fell off of the pier in Florida while my dumbass brother wasn't paying attention. I have a phobia of deep water, but I was fully prepared to jump in after him if I had to. (Note: the pier was about 30-feet above the water, about 200-300 feet from the beach.)

If it makes you feel better, a few years ago, at Wal-Mart ironically enough too, I saw some little shit acting up, screaming and throwing a tantrum in the floor because he didn't get his way on something. Next thing I know, I look over and his mom has a flip-flop off of the shoe rack beating him in his ass with it while dragging him across the floor with the other while the kid was yelling and kicking. Didn't know whether to laugh or feel bad for the kid. But the little shit did deserve to have his ass beat, and it was pretty funny.

JC, I know you love to "poke the bear" when it comes to gun issues, but even you are smart enough to know better than to make a blanket statement as bad as "the only ones who own guns are cowards and the paranoid."

As much as I don't like the idea of government having as much control as they do these days...when I hear about stuff like this, all I can think of is giant groups of babies who all have a tantrum simultaneously when they don't get their way.

Had Enough - Breaking Benjamin
I usually prefer angry/revenge music over the depressing stuff when it comes to break-ups and whatnot.

"You had to have it all, well have you had enough? You greedy little bastard you will get what you deserve. When all is said and done, I will be the one, to leave you in the misery and hate what you've become."

Sooner or Later is another good one too though.
