Other option is the selective nerve root block..... Not really painful but you feel alot of pressure and it is sort of weird when the doc puts a needle in your spine and can make your leg move by pushing on the nerve with the needle.... Most SNRB can only be done 3x in a year... but they can be done pretty close together, only require you to take off the day of the procedure (depending on the time of day you might have to take the next day off as well), and most people only complete the first procedure (don't know if thats because they got relief or just couldnt stand the procedure again)
