I can't comprehend how anyone can justify that a lifelong prison sentence (In the USA) is far worse than the death penalty. Shackle me up for life in the old Soviet Union and I would probably be the highest advocate for my death. However, human nature is to fear the unknown. I have no idea about death and the many possibilities that could exist, but it does somewhat scare me. I do know that prisoners in this fantastically ass backwards country receive three square meals a day (because it's the humane thing to do), climate controlled living quarters, arts & crafts time, free counseling and some recreational time each day. They may have to make license plates and roads signs here and there, but everyone liked shop class in high school. All of this comes to the tune of roughly $50,000 per year per prisoner in tax payer money. (Most correctional facilities are privately owned, meaning a group of douchebags are making millions to house derelicts)
