I have a garage full of bikes and while I live in Canada I still ride about 10 months a year here in Vancouver for the last thirteen years and another almost fifteen years of riding about half the year in upstate NY and NJ as well as Toronto when I wasn't on deployment. Dirt bikers are some wicked good street runners but you need a light bike and the Ninja 650 fits the bill pretty good. Only one recommendation though, rewire your controls and install dirt bike handle bars as they'll give you lighter and faster controlling of the bike until you get used to the laid over posture. It's a common mistake to put too much weight on the controls in this posture as the bike is not designed to turn it's front wheels as it's supposed to be driving at 150 MPH not 25 MPH.
