Seltar007 replied to Souder's comment on So you think you drive better stoned?

The actual problem is that there is no accurate way to measure sobriety for MJ at a normal traffic stop. Like many jurisdictions and in this video, there has to be substantial evidence in driving behavior to be arrested under suspicion of drug activity. Only after suspicion can they *try* to take a blood test and measure the nanogram level. Until some more accurate method of sobriety verification can be delivered via roadside it will seem that the levels will be in fact low. If this video is any evidence to the contrary, it looks like 5x the legal limit now should be the new benchmark. It also goes without saying that any smoker with any sense knows when they have had too much to smoke and shouldn't be driving...

To an extent, that's true. Females can, and do, aid in extracting young from the egg. When they're still in the egg, and calling, the female will pick up the eggs, and gently roll them in her mouth to free her young.

No, I have no bills, a paid off Cadillac, a house and my GF pulls in 7k a month good insurance a car and wants a baby. So I dont see how I'm not more responsible than the majority of people who pop out bastards. My kid will grow up not sucking the governments tit or having to struggle because we make more than enough to provide. How many kids did you have, what age?

Listen to yourself. Food stamps, welfare, medicaid, social security etc.. are all part of the wellfare system, which is fucked up beyond belief. I just found out my GF is pregnant. Can we get any of those benefits? NO. My point is that those who are irresponsible get rewarded.

yourshrink replied to Souder's comment on Shape Shifter

I recall hearing about Blender on occasion, never tried it though. Then again I dont do 3D rendering myself.

Sure enough you can run these programs on any decent PC. Their basic requirements, like Photoshop, are relatively low considered how powerful they are.
However I still maintain that on a professional level there is no room to for choppiness when rendering in real-time or waiting half a min to calculate fullscreen shading effects or ray tracing for that matter.
Purpose-built workstations are much different than normal PCs obviously, as every piece of hardware is built and matched to the specific task it need to fullfill be that 3D rendering, floating point calculations or CAD. They won't both do that and play Crysis 2 on max settings, just as a home PC won't do the above to any satisfactory degree for a professional.

Davismike39 replied to Souder's comment on Climate 101

I disagree. The problem will be solved when there is volition to solve the problem. Solar energy was invented over 150 years ago yet an effective technology to distribute it escapes us. Thomas Edison invented the tin-foil phonograph in 1877 and now you can carry the equivalent of the library of congress on a credit card sized devise. So, without a profit motive or a JFK type "We will land on the moon" speech, we will never rid ourselves of fossil fuel energy.

Not in this case. There is no investigation and no suspected crime. They are essentially "fishing". They could follow you for a while to see if you swerve, but if they can slow you down and get your window down for a second to smell the inside of your car...they will. This situation is no different than if he tries to ask you something as he passes you on the sidewalk. You do not have to answer here.

One more fact, most of these well-educated, hard working, successful, 6-figure salary people, started smoking in college, some under peer pressure. However, when they realized it helped them to relax while studying and get a 4. on their GPA, they too learned, "Maybe it's not as bad as Uncle Sam sells us it is?"

SpYk3 replied to Souder's comment on Weed

You're obviously from the "government-educated" side of things and listen to too many misinformation ads. Fact is, I've traveled 48 states, Mexico, and Canada, and I've smoked with more than a few thousand people in my life. The lazy, couch potato, Shaggy-like, Chong portrayed relics of the do nothing pot symbolism are, in my own observation, 1 for every 50 normal "pot-heads". Fact, I've smoked with everything from a judge to lawyers to successful business-men. This may simply be my short life-time of experience and maybe I got lucky and met the right people, but more people smoke pot than you would realize. Most, for the sake of their careers, simply deny it. Also, most of them smoke, because they have some severity of ADD/ADHD and it's really the only way they can "slow-down" and focus. I'm one of those "few", though even I must deny I really smoke anything right now as my career depends on me being an "upstanding citizen" in reputation. Thus I'd never put this on my FB or announce it in conversation.
