I love wild cats. I took a barn cat home last year, he was cool. He would go out in the night, kill shit and leave 1/2 eaten critters at the foot of my bed to show me what he had done. My husky, unfortunately decided to kill him though. I threw him on the frozen lake and a Bald Eagle ate him.

Definitely feasible especially if you feed live. That is called cage aggression. My bp gets the same way at night, it gets in the strike position but never strikes just relaxes or goes back to hiding. It doesn't strike because I don't hesitate in my movements and it recognizes my confidence, scent and generally learned when it really is feeding time.

When I feed it I leave the rat to thaw out next to it's cage to "scent the room". Then I get a cup of warm water, put the rat in an open bag in the water but not letting the rat get wet. At that point she is usually watching me do all this already. Then I wash my hands in cold water and soap, get my hemostats and make that rat zombie dance to tease and entice her. Been doing that for the past two years and she is used to the routine so that helps in me not getting bit. You didn't ask for all that but take it as it's there already. :)

Gotcha, sounds like inventory for a pet shop man well minus the child part. I had a ball python that would strike at me every time I opened the cage. Some one told me it was because I also feed it in the same cage, does that sound feasible to you?

That reminds of an account on one of the forums I use to frequent. This guy that has 500+ tarantulas and true spiders had a few escapees. One of which being a full grown male obt. One of the other members comments I will never forget as it made me laugh so hard. " O.O The obt is the only tarantula I'd use a gun on if it escaped". (Only someone familiar with the obt will find the humor).

I also have crested geckos, a ball python, a sulcata tortoise, A LOT of fish, a millipede, 2 hissing roaches, 4 cats, 3 dogs and an other worldly beautiful, hyper active, genius child that gets into everything and is fearless. You can probably see why I had to downgrade. :)

That shit makes me laugh every time I read or see it. It's very fitting as they readily rear up at anything, even a camera. Most the pics I see of them is of their giant fangs too.

They are really a beautiful orange and their feet are a really pretty shimmering blue. A must have in every collection.

No they are not mine. I only have an obt and an acanthoscurria brocklehursti that I've had for about a year and a half. I got them at the size of a dime and quarter and now they are the same size as eachother and as big as my palm.
After I find someone to adopt my emperor scorpions, northern scorpion and my niece takes her crested gecko I will have room to add a few off the list though.

Oh and yes there is a lot missing from the list. Too many.

All the old world (those from continents outside of the U.S) tarantulas' venom can do some serious damage especially if you're allergic. I think that's the "species" they might have been referring to.

Most ts are defensive at different levels. Defensive as in it will protect it's parameter. There is two tarantulas that are the definition of aggressive though and should be avoided. Aggressive as in they will literally chase you around the room or out of the forest until it rips your face off. Ok well it couldn't possibly rip your face off but you get the idea. Those two are the stromatopelma calceatum aka feather leg baboon tarantula and the haplopelma hainanum aka chinese black earth tiger. Those two are both old world tarantulas.
