Served in Desert Storm with the 4th Squadron, 7th US Calvary-2nd Infantry Division, based out of Camp Casey, Korea. Served in Mogadishu, Somalia with Task Force 2-14 Infantry, 10th Mountain Division in what was supposed to be approximately a 30 minute operation that eventually led to the true events of the movie Black Hawk Down. Also involved in the Dec. 1989 Panama Invasion (Operation Just Cause), which removed Manuel Noriega from power. I happened to be "Jungle Training" in Columbia when this OP was ordered to take place. Noriega actually escaped the initial invasion and fled. A manhunt ensued and he surrendered two weeks later. My Calvary Training and Basic were at FT Knox, KY., and my Sniper School was at Ft. Benning, GA. The first graduating class of that school in 1987, the year the school was formed.
