- Meltd0wn | 1 month agoI shipped off the wheels, front forks, the triple tree, brake calipers handlebar risers and a few other parts to Corpus Christie, TX to be chromed about 6 weeks ago. All those bike barts should be back here tomorrow so I'll be piecing the bike back together. Have another guy coming by tomorrow to see what I have left to do on the house remodeling. I'm sick of doing it so it's time to hire someone else to finish..lol. NEVER AGAIN! That's the 2nd house I've remodeled in 20 years and it sucks. If I could do it over again, I'd buy a triple or quad unit house, live in one of the units, rent out the other three for 5 years and then buy they house I really wanted. Live an learn..that's what makes us old codgers so smart. Too I didn't learn that real estate lesson early. Ah well..fuck it. I'll finish the bike and take a cross country tip! Hell yeah! reply
- bigblackjake | 4 weeks agoi've done a couple of remodels myself, and found it's best to just make it liveable first, paint everything white, and give yourself a year to detail it so you can still have a life..
cross country bike trip sounds pretty ambitious...i don't think my hands could take it unless it was on a bmw...
all the others i'm familiar with have too much vibration;
admittedly, i gave up bikes in the early 80's; after being rear ended at a light for the 2nd fucking time reply

i wish i could have participated in the discussion in real time because i have some rather strong feelings about all the hysteria myself....our culture is SO uptight and misguided in so many ways...
here's what got me last week: congress is NOT prosecuting any of the bank fraudsters that fucked up our economy but they will spend bazillions of dollars "making an example" of a baseball player who would not admit to using steroids.....i was disgusted that they even held those hearings in the first place...congress has NO business investigating baseball...
and the justice department is NOT investigating the border patrol murder of mr. ramos, even after two years of petitioning and plenty of video evidence that the bp did not manage to confiscate and destroy...
i'm very curious about events that you eluded to in another forum but i'll pm you about it.
