Speaking of pollution, gangs, and drug activity, I lived in El Paso for 4 years. Quite possibly the worst place I have ever lived (out of quite a few states and two countries), and it's even worse these days with the Mexican drug wars killing the fuck out of everyone in Juarez. This has nothing to do with Houston, but just wanted to voice my disgust with El Paso.

i've found that in the worst of times, when people are at an all time low, that's when the true human spirit can come out and achieve the things we have the potential for. whether it's from the people that are affected by a disaster, or the one's willing to help. these are the times people can rise above the thing that is threatening to bury them, and become the people we are meant to be.

so i guess what i'm rambling about is that while things are gonna be fucked up for many people, and many will suffer, in the end i have no doubt everything will be alright...
