How would you make that money back, if the value of bitcoins plummet below a point where you may end up paying more for your power bill and other "transaction fees" than what you get for mining? Taking into consideration how volatile this currency has proven to be, you may very well lose money, if the price drops below a certain level. Aside from all that, there are also other fees, which add up to your operational costs, and there is no guarantee that these fees will not be jacked up. So why would you actually risk sinking 50K into hardware and spending all that time mining, instead of just waiting for the prices to drop and just buy the damn coins directly?

In bitcoins, the miners do that job by mining out "hidden blocks" and there is only a limited number of blocks that remain to be mined, which means that, as time goes on, the cost of mining new blocks goes up, because while the newly mined blocks are worht less, the money you're spending on your power bill to run your mining rig is either the same or even higher than before. These "limited edition" blocks are "hidden" in the sense that the act of mining them out involves solving complex algorithms for which you need rather expensive hardware. When you say you need 50K to invest into an expensive rig, you are obviously expecting to make that money back pretty soon.

So let me get this straight; in a traditional system, currency transactions are carried out by the banks that keep the records and verify which funds go into which accounts. Bitcoin has something called 'mining', whereby the processing of bitcoin transactions takes place every 10 mins. These chunks of 10-min-data transactions are called 'blocks'. Basically someone has to process all those transactions, verify who owns which bitcoins, where the bitcoins are originating from and where they're heading to. For doing this job, miners are entitled to a small reward, technically a portion of the value of the 'block' that has been processed. The second function of mining is the injection of new funds into the system by mining out new blocks. It is what we'd call 'creating new money' in a traditional system, where the banks inject money into the system out of thin air.

The chart you provided doesn't show what the nature of the transactions are, and I assume that most of those transactions are not the sort of transactions people make in their daily lives for their daily consumption needs. Do you have the chart showing how many people are using their BCs to buy merchandise from legit merchants, proving that the majority aren't sitting on their bitcoins, hoping to sell high? You don't have that chart because there is no legit track of who is buying or selling what, right? So, you actually have no way of knowing which one of these transactions are real consumer transactions, and which are illegal transaction or money laundering.

So, you intend to redeem your future earnings through a prepaid card, which will hopefully be in the high range of 35K per month, like your associate's... and that way, you'll be all safe and secure... The dupes on the other end of the transaction will have no problems with you using a prepaid card for high value transactions. And if there are any complications that undermine BC in the US, you'll simply sell your rigs in a foreign market for 20 times the value you paid for them. Come on, man.

Either the banking cartel and the criminal syndicates have a vested interest in the existence of virtual currencies, or they will simply undermine any virtual currency that may potentially rock the "fiat currency" boat. So far, because of its anonymity, BC tends to appeal more to those that use the virtual currency in illegal transactions, while millions of normal people, dreaming of hitting it big, simply sit on their BCs and hope to sell high. All blocks and transactions don't seem to go "instantly" public over the network for the obvious reason that, as the number of transactions increase, the amount of time it takes for each client to download all transactions goes up substantially, which causes a lag. Blocks are actually released into the network not instantly but gradually, as far as I understand it, and certain transactions have priority over other transactions during the process (I don't know why that is the case or who actually determines which transactions get the priority). Additionally, there have already been cases of hackers stealing BCs through bogus double transactions, and a guy has already been arrested in Australia for trying to use the network at his work place to initiate fake transactions.
