She had nothing to lose. When you experience that much loss you just don't care anymore. I lost my fiancé and daughter to a drunk driver, and tried to kill myself and had given up on lying. It is a pit you don't want to fall into because when you experience a violent loss you get angry and in many cases it ends up with someone dead, whether it be you or someone else.
