      Truthfully, the racism started between indentured servants and slaves. The slaves were actually treated better because they were needed to tend the fields. Out of that the white trash indentured servants became jealous and started all this shit. +2 reply

But why is it all these mexicans come to america, seeking jobs, and most of them get one, but the blacks are still sittin' around whining and crying that they cant get a job? This is happening big time in my little midwest town. They recently tore down the chicago slums. sent thousands of welfare cases here, and none of 'em say they can get jobs, but yet we got mexicans in every job imaginable. I don't get it reply

    Just a little point of clarification...While slavery and this sort of racism did and does exist...the majority of white people in this country got together and fought a civil war with one of the goals of that war being the END of slavery...in 1964 the Civil Rights Act was passed to codify the rights of individuals...it began the process of recognizing the equality of people of all colors...there is a long way yet to go...but let me point out that this was all done with the consent and at the insistence of the majority of white people... reply

And if you want to talk about reparations, what about the YEARS of bussing, welfare, wic, heat grants, adc, liheap, ecip, and all of the other federal(which we all pay for) hand outs!     I want a black president. Not because hes black , but because hes the best. People think that Immigrants and Black people take their tax money via welfare.
